3D Printing in School is a 501c3 located in Chantilly, Virginia. The nonprofit was created to grow awareness of STEM education and 3D printing technologies in schools and educational institutions.
Our mission is to provide 3D printers to schools or academic institutions for the purposes of including 3D printing in STEM and STEAM curriculums. We are the only nonprofit providing this type of service to the community. 3D printing provides a unique value proposition because it is a burgeoning technology that is growing rapidly. In 2012, 3D printing was a billion dollar industry. In 2014, it grew to over four billion in revenue. It is expected to top 20 billion by the year 2020. In fact, the President of the United States discussed the importance of 3D printing to our economic future, in his 2013 State of the Union address.
3D Printing in School believes it is imperative to empower teachers, parents, and children with this information to position our nation's youth to lead the next industrial revolution.
3D Printing in School has a strategic marketing agreement with 3DPrinting.org. 3DPrinting.org serves as a marketing platform and online community for 3D Printing in School.
