Turn 3D Printing Uses Into a Business

Career Insight and Training

As 3D printing technologies become more and more powerful, the potential 3D Printing uses become wider and wider. Here are a few areas that are ripe for 3D business ideas.

Gaming

One of the places where 3D printing really excels is printing out plastic figurines. This also happens to be an area that is great for gaming. You could use a 3D printer to create your own game this way using your own designs.

You could print out entire sets of game pieces right from your garage. And many companies such asToyze, are doing just that. It’s a brand new world and it’s now possible to sell your own designs en masse with an amazingly low upfront cost.

Architecture

Many architects are creating their own buildings using 3D models. It’s actually possible to create models of just about anything this way, which seriously decreases the amount of time, money and effort it takes to get major building construction going.

Biotech

One of the most exciting potential uses for 3D printers is in the field of biotech. People have already used 3D printers to print out parts for people using their own stem cells. An example was the 2 year old from Illinois who was born without a trachea.

Hannah Warren is a Korean Canadian and for the first 2 years of her life she had to have a machine breathe for her through means of a tube connecting her lungs and mouth. 3D printing and stem cell science gave her a part the rest of us take for granted.

And by all measures this is just the beginning. There are many plans to use 3D printing to print out new organs for people who need them. This could completely revolutionize organ replacement to the point that it’s not even needed anymore.

As a result, many companies have been built around this new technology.
